Kathmandu, Aug 26: Newly appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat today directed all subordinate employees to carry out result-oriented work. The direction was made as he assumed the office after taking the oath of office and secrecy today.

Addressing the event organised on the occasion of his taking charge of the office, the minister directed them to show results by using all available resources.

He also directed them to update him about regular functions of the subordinate bodies under the ministry. Also, the Minister Mahat directed newly appointed ambassadors to yield results by using all available resources, saying that all vacant positions of ambassadors to various countries would be filled soon.

Referring to the countries with a large number of Nepali migrant workers, the minister said that Nepali ambassadors to these countries should put extra efforts to deal with problems and concerns of these workers. “I will make efforts to address the problem if it lacks human resources,” he said.

Touching on Nepal’s relations with neighbours India and China, he stressed the need for maintaining cordial relations with the neighbours. “I believe that Nepal’s ties with the neigbours will reach a new height during my tenure.

And national integrity, unity and national interests could not be preserved unless there are cordial relations with the neighbours,” he said. RSS
