Kathmandu, Aug 9: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said the government would not bring supplementary budget, but continue the budget presented by the former government as it is.

“There won’t be political prejudice in this regard,” he said, adding, “The Maoist party too has ownership on that budget.”

He further stated that as the parliament has passed the appropriation bill, the remaining bills related to the finance bill would be passed.

According to him, there was no relation between NEPSE plunge and the government change. “We can’t link capital market to government change,” he added.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Mahara held talks with Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr Chiranjivi Nepal, Chairman of Security Board of Nepal, Dr Rewat Bahadur Karki and Director General at Nepal Stock Exchange, Sitaram Thapaliya about the capital market.

During the discussion, they informed the Finance Minister that the capital market saw sudden change owing to technical and market effect, and investors should not worry over it.

After the discussion, the Finance Minister told the media that the government and the Finance Ministry want to take the private sector in confidence and work ahead. The government won’t be obstruction at all to create capital by encouraging the private sector. RSS
