
Kathmandu, Aug 15: The trend of the plunge in share prices continued in the capital market today also.
The NEPSE Index decreased 39.12 per cent and settled at 1694.89 points today, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) stated. The sensitive index that measures the shares of the big companies also dropped 8.38 points.
The share prices in the banking sector dropped 2.5, hotel 3.7, development bank 2.11, hydroelectricity 1.98, finance 0.33, insurance 2.8 and other sectors 1.2 per cent.
The Stock Exchange Limited said a total 2 million 417 thousand 205 units of shares of 141 companies were traded for Rs 1.192 billion.
According to NEPSE, the transaction of the Rastriya Banijya Bank and Everest Bank has increased. The NEPSE Index that touched approximately 1,900 points decreased nearly 300 points to reach 1,694 points today. RSS
