Kathmandu, May 10: Participating in the discussions on Government’s policies and programmes in the parliament meeting today, NC lawmaker Ramesh Lekhak opined for making the constitution acceptable to all.

While registering a 16-point amendment proposal on the policies and programmes, lawmaker Lekhak said that the policies and programmes should have incorporated the agenda of making the constitution acceptable to all, however, it has failed in that respect.

He claimed that holding local bodies’ election in December was impossible. He further suggested the government to control black-marketing and increasing the capital expenditure.

Nepal Workers and Peasants Party lawmaker Prem Suwal, who also registered an amendment proposal to the policies and programmes, urged to hold local bodies’ election soon.

Another lawmaker of the same party Anuradha Thapa said that the government should take the responsibility of running private hospitals within five years.

Similarly, Khambuwan National Front lawmaker, Ram Kumar Rai stressed on implementing progressive taxation system and guiding the policy and programme towards socialism.

The scheduled programme of expressing the views on the proposal of vote of thanks to the President has completed.

It is noted that three political parties had registered four amendment proposals on the government’s policy and programme. The parliament meeting is underway. RSS
