The party called for the Kathmandu Valley-wide banda against the recent price hike of petroleum products.

Though no incident of violence has been reported so far, private and community schools and colleges have remained closed, owing to the banda.

Private vehicles are seen plying on the capital’s roads since early morning while only a least number of public vehicles are providing service to commuters.

The CPN (Maoist) 12 cadres were arrested from Ratnapark, Sorhakhutte and Babarmahal areas for imposing the banda, according to the Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu officiating chief and Superintendent of Police Pradyumna Karki. RSS
