The deceased has been identified as Shekhar Pyakurel of Gerkhu, Nuwakot district. Similarly, pillion rider Mandip Pariyar of Damauli in Tanahu district was also injured in the same accident.

The incident took place when a jeep with unknown registration number hit the cycle, said police. Pyakurel died while undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj.

Injured Pariyar is receiving treatment at local People’s Hospital. The jeep driver has been absconding after the incident and search for him was underway.
