Biratnagar Warriors edged Kathmandu XI by a narrow margin of eight runs in the match held at the TU International Cricket ground at local Kirtipur today.
With this win, Biratnagar have continued their uninterrupted victory in the EPL so far. Kathmandu Kings XI who won only one game have been eliminated from the league.
Biratnagar who were invited to bat first after losing the toss gave a 148-run victory target to Kathmandu Kings XI. In reply, Kathmandu was limited to 139 runs in the stipulated 20 overs losing nine wickets.
Biratnagar, on the other hand, made 147 runs in the 20 overs at the loss of seven wickets. Babar Hayat contributed the highest number of 67 runs followed by Ansuman Rath 32 runs, captain Paras Khadka 26 runs, Anil Shah nine runs and Karan KC five runs for Biratnagar’s victory.
Kathmandu King XI’s Sompal Kami and Amar Singh Rautela claimed two wickets each while captain Pharwej Maharuf and Jitendra Mukhiya took one wicket each.
Captain Maharuf made highest 42 runs, Naresh Budhaair 30 runs, opening batsman Amit Shrestha 17 runs, Siddhanta Lohani 15 runs, Sagar Pun 13 runs and Sagar Kumar 12 runs for Kathmandu.
Biratnagar’s Ansuman Rath took three wickets while Basanta Regmi and Ram Naresh Giri two wickets each. Likewise, Karan KC and Paras Khadka took one wicket each. Anshuman Rath of Biratnagar Warriors was declared ‘Man of the Match’ and he bagged Rs 10 thousand. (RSS)
