Main opposition party, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the border dispute with India should be resolved diplomatically and through dialogue. He said the present government has failed to meet its tall promises concerning nationality.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Nepal Press Union Kanchanpur here this morning, he accused the government of not taking any initiative to resolve the border dispute. The former Prime Minister stressed that Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura were Nepali territory.

He also referred to the Mahakali treaty describing Mahakali as the border river between Nepal and India. “Kalapani is ours and the Mahakali treaty too testifies it,” he said.

NC President Deuba stressed on the need for India to enforce the Mahakali treaty, which shares the water of Mahakali river equally between the two countries.
