The Karnali State government is likely to face crunch of employees this fiscal year as well. This is due to the delay in the formulation of the Federal Civil Service Act, which is further delaying the formation and functioning of the State Public Service Commission. The Commission upon formation would be recruiting staffers for the State. However, due to absence of the federal act, the commission faces difficulty in carrying out recruitment, promotion and other public administration activities. As a result, the Karnali state government will continue to face problems in implementation of its budget this fiscal year as well. It has been failing to properly enforce its budget estimates due to lack of employees for the past two years. According to the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, the State is still in need of more than 600 employees. Government spokesperson and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Bimala KC however says that the State government would move ahead with the process of recruiting employees soon after the federal civil service act is endorsed. The state public service commission will also be soon formed by a committee led by the Chief Minister, said KC. The Speaker and Main Opposition Party leader are other members in the committee.
