Kathmandu, Aug 7 (RSS) : Traffic police have taken action against 12,749 taxi drivers in Kathmandu Valley for cheating passengers in various pretexts. 

A team from Metropolitan Traffic Police Division slapped action against taxi drivers for arbitrarily charging non-metered fare and meter-tampering in the fiscal year 2075/76 BS. 

The Traffic Division had taken action against 8,120 taxi drivers in the fiscal year 2074/75 BS. 

Basanta Kumar Panta, chief of metropolitan traffic police and Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP), shared that action was taken against those who cheated passengers with high faire.
