Kathmandu, July 8 (RSS): The locals in Kankeshwori in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15 have been facing a hard time since the suspension bridge linking Lakha Tirtha with Dallu has been out of order for a while.
The 50-metre bridge became defunct ever since torrential rain swept away around 8-feet tall rock installed by the foundation of the bridge.
The local authority has been coordinating with High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of the Bagmati Civilization to make the bridge operative yet again.
According to ward-15 Chair Ishworman Dangol, the bridge would be made functional in a week. The locals here consider the Lakha Tirtha a holy place as the national luminary Shankhadhar Sakhwa had extracted sand from this place and collected wealth through the gold panned from the sand and paid off the debts of the debt-ridden people.
