Kathmandu, March 25: CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa has come up with his own report with differing views in response to the report presented by the party chairman Mohan Baidya in the central committee meeting that started today.
In his report, party chairman Baidya has drawn the conclusion that unification with the UCPN (Maoist), from which he broke away, was possible only if there is agreement on the ideology and principles.
Baidya has stressed on the action line of new democracy revolution while Thapa has brought the new programme of national new democracy.
Thapa has concluded that unity among the revolutionary Maoist parties was the need of the time and it should be emphasised upon while holding further discussions to sort out the differences.
According to Dev Gurung, the politburo member of the party, in today’s meeting chairman Baidya and general secretary Thapa both elucidated on their respective proposals and on the need of unification with the UCPN (Maoist) in the present context.
He argued that only two reports by the two leaders were presented in the meeting and they were not proposals. The meeting will also take place tomorrow and the other central committee members will put their views on the reports. RSS
