Kathmandu, April 18: Namibia has pulled up a 240-run target to Nepal in the ongoing World Cricket League championship.
Namibia, who were sent to bat first after losing the toss, clinched 239 runs losing nine wickets in the fixed 50 overs game. Namibia skipper Stephen Ward hit 51 runs while Jen Green made 47 runs, Sorrel Beger 43 runs not out and JP Coetze 32 runs with Nepal’s bowling line making a weak start.
Nepal had to wait until 20.4 overs for claiming its first wicket. However, Nepal regained its stead once the youth bowler Sandip Lamichhane sent the Namibian skipper to pavilion. Sandip also took the seventh Namibian wicket. Similarly, Basanta Regmi and Shakti Gauchan each took two wickets.
Wicket-keeper Binod Bhandari clinched a catch and got one opponent stumped while Sarad Bheswakar, skipper Paras Khadka, Susan Bhari and Naresh Budhaayer each sent one Namibian player each run-out.
The game has resumed after halftime and Nepal is batting now. RSS
