Revisiting federal boundary after deliberation with public, Minister Basnet

Kalaiya, April 21: Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Bahadur Basnet has stated that the boundary of the federal provinces, a bone of contention between the government and the disgruntled Madheshi leaders, could be revisited only after holding deliberations with the public.

At a seminar on special regional security organized by Central-Regional Police at Pathlaiya of Bara district on Thursday, Minister Basnet reaffirmed his effort to manage the expectation of public for peace and good-governance in the country.

Also speaking at the event, Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Narayan Gopal Malego and MoHA Spokesperson Yadav Prasad Koirala pledged that the security forces would comply with the government policies and directives.

Speaking in the same vein, Inspector General of Nepal Police Upendrakanta Aryal and Inspector General of the Armed Police force Durja Kumar Rai reaffirmed that they would strictly abide by the government’s plan, policies and guidelines.

Participating in the 2-day event are the Chief District Officers of Bara, Parsa, Makawanpur, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha and Dhanusha districts as well as the Superintendent of Police and high-ranking police officers from the Armed Police Force. RSS
