
Saptari, April 27: Four police personnel have faced action for their alleged involvement in keeping gold and silver seized from a local trader illegally.
Assistant Sub Inspector Ramji Chaudhary and Constables Lalit Jha, Pappu Yadav and Chandan Yadav have been booked, following a complaint that the suspects kept over 20 tolas of gold and five kilograms silver seized from one Mohammed Nasim of Rajbiraj for themselves, said Deputy Inspector General of Police Keshari Raj Ghimire said.
The complaint was filed by Rajesh Kumar Sah, chairman of Saptari chapter of the Nepal Gold & Silver Dealers’ Association.
Of them, preliminary investigation shows that Chaudhary and Jha have been found guilty and further investigation into the case was on, he added.
Chaudhary and Jha in civvies confiscated the gold and silver from Nasim from Rupani in Rajbiraj on April 18, saying that the consignment was illegal, police said.
Nasim is a worker of New Rajya Laxmi Jewellers in Lahan. RSS
