
Itahari, April 29: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that no Nepali citizen would die of hunger during his term as the Prime Minister of the country.
Inaugurating the seventh town convention of Dharan here Friday, Prime Minister Oli appealed to all to provide information to the government immediately if any Nepali citizen is found facing problem of food
Stating that the April 25 earthquake damaged 800,000 houses and 9,000 government offices as well as schools and historical heritages in different districts, he said that the government plans to build mass settlement for the poor and impoverished communities and added that families from such communities would be settled before the rainy season.
The PM, also Chairman of the ruling CPN (UML), shared that his party would deploy special trained volunteers to help build houses in the quake-affected districts. Furthermore, he said that the government would also request Chairman of Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party, Mahantha Thakur, to deploy youth of Tarai in quake-ravaged districts as volunteers.
Prime Minister Oli said that the road linking Jogbani–Kimathanka through the Koshi highway would be two-lane and the government has planned to complete the road construction within the next two years.
On the occasion, he also shared that the road linking Dharan and Hetauda via Chatara and Udaypur would be constructed and a train route would also be construed from Mechi to Kanchanpur and Hetauda to Kathmandu. Stating that the government was committed to establishing a multi-ethnic museum in Dharan, the PM expressed commitment that the government was ready to construct it as per the wish of Dharan folks.
He also said that the government was committed to building physical infrastructure including sports ground in every city of the country. On a different note, PM Oli said, “Nepali people have promulgated the new constitution to make their future bright. It is the best one in the world.”
Stating that the government has called on the disgruntled parties to find out a solution from discussion and consensus, he urged all disgruntled parties to participate in the Saturday’s meeting as it was the main agenda of the meeting. RSS
