Education to school dropped out children in different labour

Dang, May 12: Non-formal education is being provided to local children who have been deprived of educational opportunities for different reasons.

According to Programme Coordinator of Dalit NGO Coordination Committee Rajendra Biswokarma, non-formal classes are being conducted to educate 219 school dropped out children who are involved in various forms of labour.

He furthe shared that they have conducted 12 classes in different areas targeting children who are out of access to school education due to economic, social and family reasons.

Each class has 19 students and among them 21 were enrolled in nearby school for formal education, he added.

The Tulsipur municipality has said that such literacy classes have been conducted to not leave any children illiterate due to their economic, family and social status.

The municipality and the committee teamed up to provide non-formal education to children out of educational opportunities, said Executive Officer of the municipality Topendra KC. The campaign is a part of declaring Tulsipur as a child-friendly municipality by 2017, he informed. RSS
