Parsa, May 18: A woman was killed and three other people were injured by a falling tree uprooted during a storm at local Nirmalbasti on Tuesday.

The deceased is 30-year-old Shanta Maya Shrestha of Nirmalbasti-5. Shrestha, who sustained serious injuries in the incident, died on the way to hospital. The incident happened in the forest in the Parsa Wildlife Reserve while they were grazing goats, police said.

Those sustaining injuries are 35-year-old Dudh Maya Shrestha, 40-year-old Phutung Shrestha and 16-year-old Manila Shrestha of Nirmalbasi-5. They are undergoing treatment at the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital, Birgunj. RSS
