Kathmandu, May 18: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the country’s sole international airport, has brought a new passenger waiting lounge into operation from Wednesday.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Agni Prasad Pokhrel inaugurated the new facility for domestic passengers amidst a programme today. It was constructed at the cost of Rs 115 million.

On the occasion, TIA Civil Aviation Authority Office Civil Engineering Division deputy director Murari Bhandari said the completion of the lounge was delayed by one year due to last year’s earthquake and border blockade. Its construction had begun in 2013. RSS
