
Kathmandu, May 24: The ruling parties and the main opposition party have agreed to address the demands of agitating parties through discussion and dialogue.
During the meeting held today among ruling parties including CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Centre) and the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, discussed regarding addressing demands of disgruntling parties adopting flexibility.
Nepali Congress leader, Mahesh Acharya, said that although the meeting failed to make any decisive conclusion after agitating parties remained absence, his party suggested to find out solution through dialogue and discussion.
Acharya said, “We are also ready to invite the agitating parties for talks and encourage them to forge consensus.”
Similarly, Minister for law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Agni Kharel, said that the demands of agitating parties would be addressed through discussion and talks and added that they would give continuity to the discussion.
Minister Kharel further said that the next meeting would be called soon after holding discussion.
Responding to a query, he clarified that the government had sent letter in the name of United Democratic Madhesi Front calling for the talks.
Likewise, Leader of the Maoist Centre, Ram Bahadur Thapa said that although parties associated with Federal Alliance did not attend the meeting, the ruling parties and main opposition party held discussion on the issue of resolving the existing problems.
Thapa said that the meeting reached to a conclusion that problems could be resolved through discussion after holding meeting again.
Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic), Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, said that the Prime Minister had send letter to agitating parties for talks expressing determination that the government wishes to resolve problems through discussion and talks.
Clarifying that the government was serious to address the demands of disgruntled parties, DPM Gachchhadar said that the meeting reached to an understanding to urge the agitating parties once again for talks.
Whereas, Coordinator of the Federal Alliance, Upendra Yadav, told the National News Agency (RSS) that although it has been said that Prime Minister KP Sharma called today’s meeting after holding discussion with United Democratic Madhesi Morcha, the disgruntling parties are unknown about it.
The Prime Minister had sent a six-point letter on Monday in the name of Madhesi Front in response of memorandum submitted by the Madhesi Front on May 12.
Present on the occasion were PM Oli, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal as well as chairman of fringe parties. RSS
