Father detained in suspicion of trafficking daughter

Dhading, May 25: A 48-year-old man from Urleni of Nuwakot district was presented before the District Court on Tuesday evening here in a case accusing him of selling off his daughter to a ‘broker’.

Police have detained the father along with one Prakash Kumar Acharya, 43, of Damak Municipality – 11 of Jhapa, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dipendra Panjariya, of District Police Office (DPO).

Police suspect the father was trying to sell off the daughter with the help of Acharya.

They were arrested from Naubise area in suspicion of taking the girl abroad for sale, police said. The arrestees will be tried under human trafficking case.
Man in police net for raping foster child

Meanwhile, a 48-year-old man of Kumpur VDC was arrested on Tuesday in accusation of raping his four-year-old foster daughter.

The victimized child related the story of her repeated rape to her mother following which a complaint was lodged and father taken into custody, according to the District Police Office.

Police will file a case of rape against the accused father. RSS
