Banepa, June 6: As many as eight gamblers were rounded up along with Rs 379,000 in cash from Kavre on Sunday.

The police arrested Binod Sapkota, 27, of Nasikasthan, Sagarnath Lamichane, 36, of Gairibisauna –7, Suresh KC, 43, of Banepa Municipality – 10, Surendra Thapa, 33, of Ugratara – 8, Badri Bhole, 73, of Bhaktapur – 12, Santosh Kumar Subedi, 22, of Okhaldunga, Sangita Tamang, 24, of Kathmandu and Ganga Thapa, 27, of Khoplang – 4 in Gorkha.

The District Court Kavrepalanchwok on Sunday extended the custody of the gamblers for further investigation, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nabinraj Rai of District Police Office, Dhulikhel said. They will be tried under the Gambling Act. RSS
