Kathmandu, June 6: Veteran composer Amber Gurung’s health is in a critical state, doctors attending on him said.

Grande International Hospital where Gurung is under treatment shared the latest update on the senior musician’s health condition holding a news conference this afternoon.

“His health condition is very critical. We have been providing whatever treatment is required placing him on ventilator. We have been providing the necessary care,” Dr Chakra Raj Pandey, who is involved in Gurung’s treatment, said at the news conference.

Dr Pandey said there is complication in his respiration as blood has got into his lungs due to internal bleeding.

“We cannot say what will happen next,” he said, referring to Gurung’s condition.

In the press conference, musician Gurung’s two sons, Kishor and Raju, said the things mentioned in the news saying that their father has passed which was carried by some media, were baseless. They urged the media to be responsible.

“The rumours that circulated today are groundless. He (musician Gurung) is very ill but alive,” Raju said.

Gurung, who has long been ailing from diabetes, high blood pressure and Parkinson’s disease, is receiving treatment at Grande Hospital since a week. RSS
