Kathmandu, June 28: A meeting of Japan-Nepal Political Consultation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the countries is to take place in Kathmandu on June 29.
The meeting between high level officials of both the countries is said to concentrate on consultations concerning marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal, while officials of the countries will exchange their views on various aspects of the mutual relations between the countries.
The meeting will also focus on Japan’s assistance to Nepal for the post-quake reconstructions and global and regional issues, said joint secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Jhabindra Prasad Aryal, also chief of the North East Asia Division.
Nine representatives from Japan including Kazuya Nashida, Director-General, South and Southwest Asian Affairs Department and Japanese ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa will attend the meeting while Aryal will lead 15 senior officers from various ministries including the MoFA, Education, Health, Finance, Home, Law, Physical Infrastructure, Energy, Industry, Commerce, Tourism and Forest, the National Planning Commission and the National Reconstruction Authority.
