Relief to flood and landslide victims in Bharabise

Kathmandu, July 9: The Nepal Red Cross Society Sindhupalchowk Chapter has distributed relief to the flood and landslide victims in Tatopani, Naya Basti and Bahrabise areas.

In collaboration with the District Natural Disaster Relief Committee, the Society arrived at the Liping Bazaar with 50 sets of tarpaulin sheets, 50 blankets, 25 sets of kitchen ware, 250 kilos of rice grains, 50 kilos of pulses, 25 packets of salt, oil, sanitation kits, and 2000 packs of Jivan Jal.

Society’s Executive Director, Indra KC, said the relief materials were distributed among the victims of landslides and floods in Tatopani, Naya Basti and Bharabise.

The sudden flooding in Bhotekoshi river on July 5 destroyed and swept away 38 houses and damaged road. The Nepal Army has set up tents in at least 6 places while the District Health Office has arrived with essential medicines. The NA has also airlifted those in risk to safety.

The relief materials stored at Tatopani VDC Office will be provided to the victims in collaboration with local administration, Red Cross, Nepal Police and the locals, Nepal Red Cross Society’s Kamal Charan Kashyapati, said. RSS
