Itahari, July 29: The water level in the Saptakoshi River is declining gradually owing to the decreasing rainfall in the recent days.
Sub Inspector of Police mobilized for the security of the Saptakoshi Barrage, Bhim Thebe, said the water level was measured 191,210 cusec at 4:00 pm today.
With the receding water level, 28 floodgates out of 56 are open now. On Wednesday and Thursday, the authority had opened 35 and 36 floodgates respectively.
The receding river has also lessened the panic among the people in the vicinity. RSS
