Bhadrapur, Aug 20: Jhapa district has been earning around Rs 339.6 million annually from broiler chickens.
A survey carried out by the Central Bureau of Statistics revealed this. Similarly, the district earns around Rs 58.6 million from egg, said Bureau Director Badri Karki.
The result of the survey of the commercial poultry farms carried out by the Bureau in 2014/15 was released on August 16 of the current fiscal year 2016/17. This is the first survey of the poultry forms carried out in Nepal.
There are 562 commercial poultry farms in the district. Of them, 540 are related to poultry farms of broiler chickens and there are 933,000 broiler chickens.
Similarly, there are 22 commercial poultry farms of layer chickens and have 30,000 chickens.
According to the survey, 2,072 metric tonnes of chicken meat and 6.969 million eggs are produced in district annually. RSS
