Kathmandu, Aug 23: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Bhimalendra Nidhi, today termed his India visit as being ‘extremely successful’.
DPM Nidhi, who went on an official visit to India as Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s special envoy on August 18, spoke with journalists upon his arrival back home at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) expressing his satisfaction over the visit. He added that the talks were held on a wide range of topics from politics to development.
The visit was centered on preparation for high official visits between the countries, Nidhi said, adding that the official visits of President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Dahal to India and Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s Nepal visit were confirmed during his visit.
“I have felt that the relations between the two countries have been made very cordial. It will be proven during our PM’s visit to India,” DPM Nidhi added further.
The DPM said he also held talks on implementing the projects run under Indian government’s support in Nepal.
During the meeting, DPM Nidhi met with Indian President Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, Bharatiya Janata Party Chair Amit Shah, opposition party Congress I leader and former PM Man Mohan Singh and Congress I Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
