Janakpurdham, Oct 25: President of the Sadbhavana Party, Rajendra Mahato, has said playing down the national agenda is a sign of a big conspiracy against the country and the people.

Addressing a press conference here today, he said it is unfortunate that the country has been hoodwinked in the name of the impeachment against Lokman Singh Karki, the suspended chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) rather than focusing attention to protecting the constitution through its implementation by amending it.

He alleged the Nepali Congress, the CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist Centre) of trying to fulfill their vested interest by unnecessarily hyping up the impeachment against Karki, who he said, is a government official and taken action against by fulfilling the due legal process. “The Madhesi Front will soon make its views public on this matter,” he added.

Responding a question, he said he has no concern regarding whether to retain or remove Karki but it would be dishonesty and injustice to the people to keep the main agenda in the shadow in the cover of this (Karki impeachment) issue.

He further said although the Prime Minister was positive on constitution amendment, the Nepali Congress was not as keen as the PM on this matter and it was also not taking positive initiations to that end. RSS
