Inaruwa, Oct 26: Minister for Forests and Soil Conservation Shankar Bhandari who represents the Nepali Congress in the coalition government has said his party would not make a hasty official decision on the impeachment motion against Chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki.
Talking to media persons here today, Bhandari said the party would not make a haphazard decision on the motion. He was here to inspect the works being undertaken by the Nepal Army to conserve the Chimadi-based Baraju Pond.
He said the government leading party, the CPN (Maoist Centre), moved the impeachment motion against the CIAA Chief in support of the major opposition CPN (UML) without consulting the NC. That’s why the NC would not give its decision on the issue haphazardly, he added.
Any decision made in a hurry on such issue would invite any consequences.
However, the passage of the impeachment proposal by the House without the Congress support was not possible and the party would determine its course of action regarding it after studying on the matter in detail.
On the occasion, the Minister applauded the conservation works being carried out by the NA. RSS
