Biratnagar, Dec 2: Sadbhawana Party Chair Rajendra Mahato has said they are deceived by the constitution amendment proposal.
Addressing a press meet organised by the party here today, leader Mahato said the amendment proposal is not enough to address the Madhes demands and it needs to be revised.
Federalism is the need of the country to ensure participation of Madhesis, Tharus, indigenous and nationalities in the ruling system, he said and claimed that some political parties and people who are guided by the anti-federalism thought do not want the empowerment of those communities being suppressed for years.
He forewarned of protests from the House and the street if attempts are made to pass the amendment proposal as it is.
Allowing the presidential and prime ministerial posts to the naturalized citizens is not the demand of the Madhes-centric parties, he said, adding that there should be no discrimination among the citizens.
He further accused the major political parties of becoming irresponsible towards the problems of countries. RSS
