Saptari, Dec 10: Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Gajendrabadi) Chairman Bikash Tiwari today ended his 18-day long hunger strike demanding reforms in the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in Rajbiraj.
Tiwari broke his fast-unto-death after signing of a four-point agreement with health authorities in the presence of Health Minister Gagan Thapa. Neelam Mandal, a child patient in the hospital administered juice to Tiwari to break his fast.
Tiwari decided to end his hunger strike after Minister Thapa pledged to implement the subjects agreed upon, according to the party.
As per the agreement, the hospital will recruit specialist doctors within a month and form a high level probe committee within the next seven days to investigate alleged irregularities.
The high level committee will submit a report within one month on the basis of which action will be taken against those found guilty. RSS
