Bhakatpur, Dec 14: CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) Chair Naryanman Bijukhe met today to discuss the issues relating to country’s contemporary political scenario.

During the meeting that took place latter’s residence at Kamabinayak, the two exchanged views on the ongoing obstruction in the House, enforcement of the constitution and holding of the local election.

Talking to media, following the meeting, CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party deputy leader Subas Nembang who was also present in the meeting said the two leaders exchanged views on how to move ahead when there is obstruction in Parliament.

The two leaders agreed on going with the House obstruction imposed over the constitution amendment bill registered by the government in the Parliament and further intensifying the protest.

Both leaders were univocal that the amendment bill was against the interests of the nation and country, according to leader Nembang.

The heads of both political parties agreed to further intensify the obstruction in the House and street protests against the amendment proposal, as stated by Nembang.

Similarly, NWPP Chair Bijukchhe briefed the media that the meeting agreed to go with the protests both in the House and street until the amendment bill is withdrawn.

“Parties and the House will lose people’s trust if the House allowed functioning without pulling amendment proposal back. The decision to continue the protests is meant for pressing the government to withdraw the bill,” he said.

The NWPP and the CPN (UML) want the withdrawal the amendment bill before letting the Parliament to resume its business, he said, adding that the tendency of giving priority to self-interests by political parties in the government has fueled political instability in the country. RSS
