Tourism Minister sees need of promoting religious tourism

There should be a good publicity of religious sites in the country in the international arena to encourage religious tourists to arrive here, he stressed.

Inaugurating the construction of roadside gardens from Aanptari to Devghat in Chitwan initiated by the Devghat Area Development Committee today, he insisted on beautifying religious shrines and other touristic sites. 

On the occasion, lawmaker Geeta Wagle announced the financial assistance of Rs 500,000 from the MP’s fund to the roadside gardens construction project.  She personally pledged to bear the cost of the construction of two gardens as well.

 According to Committee Chair Tankanath Poudel, works are underway to construct some 200 gardens on the four kilometres roadside stretching from Aanptari Chowk to Devghat. The Committee is receiving assistance from the public and private level to this end.   The gardens will feature different verities of plants including of camphor and red sandalwood, among others. RSS
