
The parliament business has been stalled due to the obstruction by the opposition parties including the main opposition CPN (UML) in protest against the constitution amendment bill.
The government registered the amendment bill on November 29, 2016 and the parliament meetings have remained obstructed since.
Speaker Onsari Gharti issued a notice about the postponement of the House meeting until 1pm tomorrow or January 3.
The speaker postponed the House meeting on the advice of the Parliament’s Business Advisory Committee.
UML Chief Whip Bhanubhakta Dhakal said the second meeting was postponed as the major parties were in dialogue to forge consensus. The first meeting was adjourned after the obstruction by lawmakers of the opposition parties. RSS
