Trust’s daily administrative works have come to a total halt due to the agitation launched since Friday. The agitating employees have barred permanent employees from carrying out official works.
Prior to this, they had launched a hunger strike from January 16 to 27, putting forth a charter of five points demands that includes the dismissal of Trust member-secretary Ajitman Tamang from his post, guarantee of professional security of contract and wage-based employees, immediate availability of remunerations left to be paid for them for over three months and an end to irregularities and corruption gripping the Trust for long.
Earlier, the management side agreed to depute Member Secretary to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and address their remaining demands gradually.
The agitating employees said the management addressed only one of their demands that is for payment of their remaining remunerations to date. They have accused the management of turning deaf ears to their voices.
However, Trust Vice-Chair Vikkhu Nigrodh (Siddhartha Maharjan) said the Trust was preparing for a meeting with the line Ministry and Executive Committee to discuss the issues of agitating employees. He said they were doing best to calm down the situation.RSS
