A single bench of Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada on Thursday directed the Nepali Congress party office to be present at the SC within 10 days on the case of the contempt of court filed against President Deuba.
Advocate Hari Prasad Mainali had lodged a case on contempt of court against Nepali Congress and its President Deuba on April 2.
The central committee meeting of the Nepali Congress recently had termed the SC’s verdict on appointment of Inspector General of Nepal Police the interference to the right of Executive and was against the principle of separation of powers.
The court can slap one year in jail and up to Rs 100,000 in fine or both if the contempt of court was proved. RSS
