The committee has been formed at the initiatives of various local organizations working in the sector of children with the objective of warning the political parties against using children for election purpose.

Programme Director of the Human Rights Network and Peace Action Group, Prakash Adhikari is the coordinator of the 13-member committee.

It is stated that the committee shall monitor the use of children during the election whether any election-related programmes are organized in schools, among other child rights issues. RSS
