Prime Minister Modi, who called on visiting President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Rastrapati Bhawan this evening, said he was looking forward to support the advancement of Nepal and the Nepali people. He also wished to see bilateral development projects and post-earthquake reconstruction in Nepal move ahead, according to Foreign Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, who was also present in the meeting.
On the occasion, President Bhandari said that Nepal could benefit from the pace of the India’s development, while adding that the government of Nepal was presently working to implement the constitution and holding local level elections in order to address the aspirations of the people to institutionalize democratic change in the country.
‘India ready to facilitate currency exchange’
Meanwhile, in a meeting with President Bhandari today, Indian Minister for Finance Arun Jaitley said India was ready to address the problem of exchange of demonetized Indian currency notes present in Nepal. RSS
