A nine-member group of journalists including Press Club of India Gautam Lahiri made the remark at an interaction organized by Western Regional Hotel Association on Wednesday.

They drew the attention of the authorities concerned to take measures to improve the road conditions noting that it gives different impression to tourists.

Lahiri, also the consulting editor of New Delhi based Millennium Post, stressed the need to upgrade road infrastructure keeping in mind the trouble facing the tourists while travelling through congested, dilapidated and unmanaged roads.

Likewise, senior assistant editor of Indo-Asian News Service, Prashant Sud said they were highly impressed by the scenic beauty of Pokhara and suggested that the Nepal government and private sector should work together to improve basic needs and infrastructure development required for tourists coming here.

Also speaking on the occasion, Western Regional Hotel Association Bikal Tulachan said though the frequent strikes, earthquake, embargo on trade and de-monetization took big toll on Nepali economy it is gradually improving right now.

Informing that India shares one third of total number of tourists of 800,000 every year, he said there is potential to attract Indian tourists to Pokhara through sports like cricket. RSS
