As a result, the locals are left with no option than to take a shelter in nearby forest while houses of some locals including Gurung Ghale, Ruk Ghale, Manang Ghale, Malang Tamang, Chhiring Tamang, Nir Bahadur Tamang, Tamar Tamang, Sudib Tamang and Manang Tamang have been damaged partially.

“With the incident, we are forced to leave our houses to save our life,” said one of the affected locals.

Although a team of experts from the Nepal Reconstruction Authority suggested relocating human settlements at 10 different locations including Rubivyali after finding out that the locations are at risk of a landslide as the land has developed cracks due to the earthquake of April 25, 2015, no measures have been taken so far.

The District Disaster Management Committee has also been blamed for not taking initiatives to relocate the settlement beforehand. RSS
