This recommendation was made to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba by a team of the Commission led by its Chief Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav at a meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister earlier today. The EC team also discussed with the Prime Minister in detail about the legislations and the report of the constituency delineation commission necessary for the election, according to Dr Yadav.

Dr Yadav also shared that the EC team apprised the PM of the use and need of electronic voting machine in order to make the elections free and fair, and cost-effective. The PM took all our recommendations positively, he said.

Prior to this, the Commission had recommended to the government to announce the election to the Provincial Assembly for coming October 16, and the House of Representatives election in mid-November. RSS
