Koirala was attacked near his home while returning after selling milk in the market on August 20 and was found lying unconscious at Rabiopi.

Seriously injured in the attack, Koirala was receiving treatment at Norvic Hospital, Kathmandu, for six days, District Police Office, Dhulikhel said. Koirala succumbed to serious head injuries.

The Ward Chair, elected from the CPN (UML), leaves behind his wife, three sons and parents.
