The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Chalimaya Magar, according to the District Police Office, Udayapur.

Police Inspector Devi Prasad Fago said that the lightning struck the electricity pole alongside the road. The thunderbolt thereafter spread to the house of Magar claiming her life while she was sleeping in bed in the courtyard. It was raining then.

A team of police has reached the deceased’s house and doing paperwork in connection to Magar’s death, police said.
