She defeated Diwan Singh Bista of the Nepali Congress by a big margin of 19,248 votes, shared Election Officer of Election Constituency-1, Gunaraj Shrestha.

According to Shrestha, Bina received total 36,467 votes while her arch-rival Bista obtained 19,219 votes.

Earlier, Maoist leader Bina was defeated by Bista in the Constituent Assembly elections in 2070 BS.
