UML’s candidates had secured three seats in the election to the House of Representatives from the same district.
UML has garnered 82,658 votes while Nepali Congress (NC) got 60,789 votes, according to the Regional Election Officer, Gangalal Subedi.
Similarly, CPN-Maoist Centre has come in the third position in the district securing 13,881 while Bibkeshil Sajha Party secured 7,327 votes. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) received 3,333 votes while Federal Socialist Forum Nepal obtained 1,387 votes and Naya Shakti Nepal 1,163 votes.
A total of 7,261 votes were found invalid under the proportional system.
Likewise, in the election to the Provincial Assembly, UML received 77,487 votes in the provincial assembly election while Nepali Congress polled 58,172. CPN-Maoist Centre got 16,545 votes while Bibekshil Sajha Party got 5,624 votes.
RPP got 3,610 votes, Federal Socialist Forum 1,851 votes and Naya Shakti Party 1,536 votes.
Altogether 7,271 votes were deemed invalid in this election. There are altogether 255,452 votes in the district. A total of 180,573 votes were cast in both elections of which 173,312 votes were valid.
A total of 20 political parties’ candidates had contested in the provincial assembly while 49 parties were in the fray under proportional system.
