The district is located in an area near tourist destinations, an airport and convenient for all 14 districts within the province, while it has enough physical infrastructures and resources required for a capital city, they argued.

Besides, the area has also transportation access, all facilities like electricity, drinking water, education, health and communications required for the same, said a local teacher Dev Krishna Yadav.

A local social worker Dhiraj Bhattarai urged local political party leaders to speak up and create pressure on the centre to make the district the capital of the province.
