In a condolence message issued today by Chief Secretary of the NC Central Office, Krishna Prasad Poudel, NC expressed sorrow over the demise of Baniya, 79. He died while undergoing treatment at Vayodha Hospital.

Baniya was active member of the party and had played a leadership role in democratic movement of Nepal.

Wishing for eternal peace of the departed soul, NC President and Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, extended condolence to the members of the bereaved family, reads the message.

Last rites of late Baniya would be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat this afternoon, according to the Baniya family.
