Kathmandu, April 6: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been elected as the party’s parliamentary leader.

Deuba secured 139 votes, while his closest contender NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel got only 67 votes.

The election to the coveted post of NC PP leader concluded today.

Out of 207 NC lawmakers, 206 cast their vote. NC central member and lawmaker Narahari Acharya could not cast his vote due to illness.

Another lawmaker Dr Ram Sharan Mahat exercised his franchise through personal secretary Ramesh Mahat due to ill health, said the election committee member Gururaj Ghimire. RSS
