Shankar Rai of the Nepali Congress has been elected the mayor of Letang-Bhogateni Municipality located in the northern belt of the district. Rai secured 6,656 votes and his nearest rival Bhupendra Lawoti of the CPN (UML) got 6,351 votes.
Similarly, Krishna Kumari Niraula of the CPN (UML) has been elected to the post of deputy-mayor with 6,809 votes.
The Nepali Congress candidates have been elected to the various posts including the ward chairperson at Ward numbers 4,6,7 and 8 of the municipality while the UML candidates have been elected to the various posts including ward chairperson at Wrad numbers 1,2 5 and 9. The NC candidates have been elected in Ward number 3 except one open category.
Meanwhile, Rabin Rai of Nepali Congress has been elected the mayor of Ratuwamai Municipality with 9,895 votes. His closest contender Tekendra Pomu of UML bagged 8,150 votes.
Similarly, UML candidate Dayamanta Chudal has been elected the deputy-mayor with 8,372 votes. His nearest rival Nepali Congress’s Phulwati Godi secured 8,313 votes. RSS
